Effective January 1, 2010 the Frederick County Division of Human Resources will go-live with a new online hiring system called NEOGOV!
NEOGOV is an online hiring system which allows applicants to create a user account, apply for positions directly online, and even check the status of their candidacy! To get started and familiarize yourself with this process, please view this document.
NOTE: Human Resources will continue to accept hard copy application forms until February 1, 2010. After that deadline, all applications must be submitted electronically.
PLEASE READ THIS NOTICE: In October, 2008, the County Commissioners enacted a temporary Hiring Freeze that initially affected all vacant positions with Frederick County Government. All vacancies were assessed by the County Manager at that time, and new vacancies are being assessed as they occur, to determine which positions are eligible for hire and which positions must remain temporarily frozen.
All job applicants who were under consideration at the time the Hiring Freeze began have been contacted by Human Resources to advise their status. All of those who are included in a “frozen” hiring process will be re-contacted by Human Resources if a subsequent decision changes that status. Positions that are approved for advertising and hire during this Hiring Freeze are published by Human Resources in the customary manner, using this Job Opportunities page (www.frederickcountymd.gov/jobs) as well as Frederick cable television (channel 19), local newspaper advertising and hand-out materials in the Human Resources office. The positions posted on this Job Opportunities page are not frozen – they have been approved by the County Manager, and applications are being accepted to fill these vacancies.
